Yet we know that every leader is part of a system, which can either enable or constrain individual performance. Our consulting work focuses on creating the conditions for every employee to flourish. This may be diagnostic work to discover the real issues, organisation and job design to clarify accountabilities, or strategic workforce planning to map out future needs.

We work with clients on a range of projects and programs, using our expertise to facilitate workshop sessions and deliver consulting assignments. Our typical clients are business owners or Executives looking to build capability or capacity in their teams, or HR/OD specialists looking to drive growth and enable behaviour change in others. Ascend Development: NHS Integrated Care Diagnostic
The Board of an Integrated Care Partnership needed to build a shared understanding of how the 14 member organisations could work and deliver together as an ICP. They wanted to get really clear on the tensions that were holding them back, identify where people were already working well across boundaries, and understand what the ICP meant to staff and partners.
We partnered with Ascend Development to conduct a series of diagnostic interviews with Board Members, Primary Care and Acute Clinicians, Managers, Council and Community stakeholder. As lead on the project, Principal Consultant Andy Jenkins wrote a diagnostic report which we presented to and discussed at the IPC Board. The diagnostic report included:
Detailed insights, examples and quotes that brought to life the challenges and opportunities, built around a 6 step framework that created a common language for all parties
Case studies of ICP/ICS good practice from across the UK, which highlighted what was needed to be successful and how to get there
A comprehensive set of recommendations which were prioritised and aligned to existing programs and initiatives

Change Right: Supporting Organisational Growth
One of our clients is Change Right, who are a rapidly growing consulting and change business working with a number of high profile public sector organisations. We have worked closely with the Managing Director to apply strengths based team working to sustainably scale the business. We continue to provide coaching support and learning sessions as the business grows nationally and internationally.

Shelter: Behaviours & Competency Toolkit Development
Our public and third sector clients include the NHS, local authorities and national charities in the UK, as well as federal government organisations in Australia. We recently worked with Shelter, the leading housing and homelessness charity to bring to life their new behavioural framework, part of a major organisational transformation. We worked with them to create a toolkit full of practical tools and exercises which will make it easy for staff and volunteers to use the new behaviours, and support their work to build an inclusive and Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) workplace.
